Project communication on small projects with a few participants is often handled in person, by email, or by phone. However, in more complex projects such as the 10.000m² Automation Center in Horná Streda, traditional communication channels won´t be sufficient. Therefore, PROMA was looking for an intuitive CDE system that would allow to mark an issue directly in drawing, assign the task to the responsible person and track the progress of the task.
Thanks to cloud storage and access from a mobile phone or tablet, it was easy for all users to view the documentation at any time, check the real construction with the BIM model, perform inspection plans and mark and assign tasks to the corresponding subcontractors. The building was designed in various software: Tekla, Allplan, ArchiCAD and Revit. All these formats could be imported directly in Dalux via plugins from the software or IFC.
During the training of subcontractors, the BIM coordinators at PROMA gave positive feedback. It was easy to mark defects and assign the task to the responsible person. After the task is sent, the responsible person gets a request via an email and notification in Dalux Field App. The task location can be viewed in 2D or 3D, and submitted back for review and approval once finished. In the final stage of construction, it is possible to export all comments, checklists and photos to PDF in a few minutes, which saved us a lot of administrative work.
